The Conco Companies are providing concrete services on the parking structure for the new Avalon Dublin Station Phase III 252-unit apartment building scheduled to open in September, 2015. The building is conveniently located adjacent to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station and offers the apartment’s tenants easy access to highway 680 and 580.
Conco’s work on the project includes the construction of the C1, six-story cast-in-place parking structure that will contain 365 parking spaces to accommodate the apartments. We will place 133,281 sq ft of concrete and use 542,000 pounds of reinforcing steel in building the structure. The total project will take 4,500 cu yd of concrete and 800 cu yd of shotcrete.
As part of the Avalon Dublin Station apartment communities, Phase III is also developed and managed by AvalonBay Communities, Inc. Like Phase I and II, the new phase will offer a host of high-end finishes and amenities to its tenants. With a choice of spacious one, two, and three bedroom units, each apartment will have an in-unit washer/dryer, gourmet kitchen with quartz stone countertops, and ENERGY STAR appliances. Select apartments will have a balcony or patio and large, walk in closets.

The Conco Companies are providing concrete services for the new Amalfi I project under construction in the city of Milpitas, CA. The luxury 378-unit apartment building, estimated at a cost of $100 million, is adjacent to the future Milpitas Bay Area Rapid Transit Bart Station scheduled to open in 2017. The architect is Humphreys & Partners and the development company for the apartments is Amalfi Milpitas LLC..
Located in the heart of Milpitas on a new street called Amalfi Loop, the Amalfi I is a mixed use housing project with a host of amenities. Each unit will embrace a stylish, modern floor plan and is conveniently situated to nearby shopping, restaurants and employment centers.
Conco’s work on the project includes the construction of the 590 space, seven-story cast-in-place parking structure. During the course of the project, Conco will place a total of 201,909 sq ft of concrete (Slab-on-Grade - 27,447 + Elevated - 174,462). To complete the job 7,200 cu yd of concrete, 2,500 cu yd of shotcrete and 1.3 million pounds of reinforcing steel will be used.
The new apartment is just one project scheduled for the area. The Amalfi II, a $75-million 260-unit apartment project, will be adjacent to the Amalfi I and has not started yet. Another project, the Edge, is a $110-million, 1,000-unit mixed use project near Piper Drive and includes 8,100 square feet of commercial and retail uses.

The Conco Companies are providing concrete services for a new 196-unit luxury apartment building in downtown Redwood City at the corner of Main and Marshall. The project broke ground in spring, 2014 and is expected to be completed by 2016.
The building is designed by Christiani Johnson Architects and being constructed by owner and developer, Lennar Multi-Family West. The landscape architect is MPA Design and civil engineer is BKF Engineers. The project complies to the city’s three story height limit along Main Street with an eight-story cast-in-place structure behind. In addition the façade of the building will complement the “scale and character” of the historic Redwood City downtown area.
Along with the main structure, Conco is constructing two levels of subterranean parking and wrapped garage at grade for a total of 330 parking spaces. To complete the project, Conco is placing 409,949 sq ft of concrete and using 4.5 million pounds of reinforced steel. The project will consist of 20,500 cu yd of concrete and 1200 cu yd of shotcrete.
The Main + Marshall apartments offers a long list of amenities such as a fitness center, lounge, dog park, roof deck, barbeque, courtyard, business center, bike repair shop, dog wash, pool, and spa. The project emphasizes a pedestrian-friendly experience for residence that is consistent with the city’s vision for the downtown area.
The project is a part of the Redwood City’s Downtown Precise Plan that was adopted in 2011 and allows for the private development of up to 2,500 new residential units. The plan also permits the development of 100,000 square feet of retail space, 500,000 square feet of office space and 200 hotel rooms in the three-block radius surrounding the county courthouse.

Primary responsibilities include: Preparing the project estimate, bid and schedule for commercial construction projects; Interpret plans and specifications, perform takeoffs and develop estimates; Evaluate subcontract, vendor and supplier quotes; Prepare RFI’s; and Oversee the budgeting and financing on a project. Candidates will also need good communication skills, a strong desire to be part of the construction process and detailed oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and Auto Cad are a plus as well as any previous experience in concrete estimating. Prior employment or an internship with a construction company is also a plus.
